The scoop:
So basically, for the release of IM3, I’m doing a giveaway. All you have to do is reblog this, and you’re entered for the grand prize. One person will be randomly chosen for that, and then out of everyone else, 3 others will randomly chosen for those. However, being the comic book nerd I am, I still want to know why you entered. If you get chosen and are just like “because I love RDJ so much omgasldkfjsa he’s just perf,” well, I need more than that. Tony Stark is generally an asshole, so if that’s why you love him, that’s what I want to hear. Why do /you/ love Iron Man, whether it be in the movies, or comic books - this is why you love/love to hate the genius behind the red and gold suit. That’s just for the grand prize though, so don’t worry. If you win one of the other three, knock your socks off. Still want to hear why you love or love to hate Tony Stark, but it won’t determine anything.

Think forward to the end of next week or even to the week after that when you get your grades for the semester. There are two ways this could go: the bad way or the good way. You know how to get to both of these.
The bad way: This is the way you know so well. You don’t feel motivated to study so you keep waiting and waiting for the motivation to strike. You don’t feel like you can do it so you don’t and it becomes a never-ending circle in which you have unknowingly trapped yourself. During each final, you mentally berate yourself for not studying more over the last week and you leave the room with a feeling of hopelessness. Your final grades come and you see that you didn’t get that passing grade you needed or you were just a few points short of getting that A or B. You fall deeper into that completely untrue belief that you are not good enough and that you can’t be successful in life.
The good way: Even if you don’t feel the urge to study, you do. As appealing as wasting time sounds right now, you know that you will regret it later. Besides, that break will feel so much better without the dark cloud of regret hanging over your head. You feel motivated again after the thrill of learning something new kicks in. Come each final, you look over the test and realize that you understand the problems. You know what they want from you and you can give it to them. You get to work and come out of that room feeling mentally exhausted but happy with the knowledge that you truly tried your best. Your final grades come in and maybe you didn’t get that high grade that you wanted or maybe you did but it was definitely much better than the grade you would have gotten if you hadn’t tried. You did your best and you have your success to remind you that you can take on anything you want to, even if it takes a while. Now you can take that movie break you wanted and boy, does it feel good.
You know that saying “Believe in me who believes in you”? It’s true. There are a lot of people who know you can do it, even if you yourself don’t think you can. So believe them. You can do it. It may be hard but you’ll find that it gets easier as you go.
